Coming Sunday: Our Next Free Walk at DeKorte

IMG_9320
The Meadowlands Commission's next free walk with Bergen County Audubon is this Sunday at 10 a.m. at DeKorte Park.

The walk begins with a short talk and slide show about ducks and raptors that will be soon chilling in the Meadowlands — followed by a walk to see what's already around.

Who knows? Myabe we'll even see some of the recent waxwings, like the one above.

The talk is in the Meadowlands Environment Center.

More information follows.

This free two-hour program at DeKorte Park features a short talk and slide show on the raptors and winter waterfowl of the Meadowlands by the NJMC’s Jim Wright, followed by a walk along legendary Disposal Road. We’ll meet just inside the Environment Center. The walk is run by the N.J. Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute updates and weather advisories. You will have to sign a standard liability release for 2011 if you haven't already.
