Tomorrow’s Free Walk: Mill Creek Marsh + Laurel Hill

IMG_9554
We have a blockbuster walk scheduled for tomorrow — starting at 10 a.m. at Mill Creek Marsh. At the walk's conclusion (noonish), we'll drive down to Laurel Hill County Park (bring your own lunch) and to see if we can see the new (?) tenants of the Common Ravens nest.

Very exciting.

Event info follows. Note: We'll walk in a light rain but lightning cancels.

Third-Tuesday-of-the-Month Bird Walk with the NJMC and BCAS
This free two-hour walk showcases Mill Creek Marsh in Secaucus. We’ll meet at Mill Creek Marsh at 10 a.m. (directions are on meadowblog.net in the left-hand column), or you can also meet us at the visitors’ parking lot at DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst by 9:30 a.m. and we can carpool. As a bonus, we are sponsoring an optional lunchtime walk at historic Laurel Hill County Park in Secaucus, in hopes of seeing the Common Ravens (or a new tenant of the cliffside nest). (BYOL – bring your own lunch.)  The walks are run by the N.J. Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute weather updates. You will have to sign a standard liability release that is good for NJMC/BCAS events throughout the year. To rsvp, contact Don Torino of the BCAS at greatauk4@aol.com or 201-230-4983.
