Ron Shields’ Latest Kearny Marsh Pix

IMG_6965
Ron Shields writes: "Included some images from a [late September] trip into the Kearny Marsh.

"I still found several flocks of Pectoral Sandpipers along with numerous Great Blue Herons and several Green Herons.

"The highlight of the trip was a flyover American Bittern which I was unable to photograph. (Darn you, Ron!)

"A lone Osprey hunted the eastern edge of the marsh parallel to the turnpike while Wood Ducks and Blue-winged and Green-winged Teal rested and fed in quiet water.  Great Egrets were extremely approachable." (Thanks, Ron!)
