We know we can't compete with Wrestlemania in the Meadowlands on Sunday, so we thought we'd offer an equally exciting alternative — Wren-O-Mania at DeKorte Park. This free two-hour guided bird walk includes a free prize to the first person to see or hear a Marsh Wren or Carolina Wren! (Photo of the Marsh Wren above by Ron Shields, from The Nature of the Meadowlands).

Wren-O-Mania!
First Sunday-of-the-Month Bird Walk with the NJMC and BCAS

Enjoy early April out of doors by joining us on this free two-hour guided nature walk in DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst. We’ll walk around parts of the park, looking for spring arrivals, Bald Eagles and other birds. The first person to see or hear a wren gets a NJMC Pontoon boat cruise for two or a copy of “The Nature of the Meadowlands.”  All participants will receive 20 percent off coupons to the Tideland Treasures gift shop. The walk starts at 10 a.m. outside the Meadowlands Environment Center. The walk is run by the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute weather updates. You will have to sign a standard liability release that is good for NJMC/BCAS events throughout the year. To rsvp, contact Don "The Thrasher" Torino of the BCAS at greatauk4@aol.com or 201-230-4983.
