He/she should be alright. In a couple of weeks it should be a butterfly. As long as there’s flowers or flowering weeds around for nectar they can make it. I’ve seen Monarchs passing through the first week of Nov. in Cape May. Farewell
This guy is just entering his chrysalis stage on the same plant he was photographed on. He’s gotten substantially larger in the few days since the photo was taken. The leaf he is sitting on in the photo? Eaten. As is the whole top half of the milkweed plant.
He should be popping out at the end of the month. Let’s hope he makes it to his next stop before the weather catches up with him.
