Each Monday, we post the upcoming events for the Meadowlands Commission and the Meadowlands Environment Center through the upcoming weekend.
This week’s main event is a program on owls — on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the MEC. (The Long-eared Owl above was photographed in the Meadowlands a few years back.)
Details follow.
Sunday, Nov. 17, 1 – 2:30 p.m.
Cedar Run Owls – All ages
Are you as wise as an owl? Find out up close with staff from the Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge. They’ll be bringing some of their tree-dwelling creatures, including Reggie, an eastern screech owl brought to Cedar Run after an injury caused permanent blindness in her left eye. The Burlington County-based refuge includes a federally and state licensed hospital facility that cares for nearly 4,000 injured, orphaned or displaced native wild animals each year.
$5/person; $4/MEC members
