Ron Shields took these photos yesterday of three osprey at separate perches along Disposal Road, all chowing down on some freshly caught menhaden fish. Nice work Ron!

Actually, this critter came from the Mill Creek Marsh. It resembles a b-movie monster – if it were about 100 feet taller – but it’s actually the pretty cool looking Dogday Harvestfly Cicada. Thanks to Mickey Raine for sending along these photos of the colorful fella.
