Our naturalists are on a roll. This morning we posted a terrapin hatchling they came across yesterday. Today it’s a Painted Turtle Hatchling!

NJSEA naturalists yesterday came across a terrapin hatchling in a nest in a Meadowlands marsh. Hofstra University students that the NJSEA was helping this summer used cages to protect a handful of nests from predation. The terrapin in the photos was released under some cover in the marsh.
