The free, family-friendly Festival is Saturday, Sept. 15 at DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and will include a family-friendly day of bird walks, talks, raptor visits, kids activities and more celebrating the Meadowlands amazing bird population.
Highlights include a keynote talk by renowned field guide author David Sibley, a walk led by prominent birding author Rick Wright and a live raptor demonstration. Kid’s programs include a scavenger hunt, bird migration game, and making an ice cream cone bird feeder.

BCAS Nature Walk Next Tuesday (Aug. 21) at Mill Creek Marsh
Join the Bergen County Audubon Society next Tuesday (Aug. 21) as they lead a guided walk of Mill Creek Marsh in Secaucus, a fantastic spot for birding. They’ll be keeping an eye peeled for shorebirds like like Semi-palmated Sandpipers, Greater Yellowlegs and Short-billed Dowitchers.

Boat tours are offered by Hackensack Riverkeeper and space is limited. Registration is by phone only. Registration begins at noon Monday Aug. 13. Call 201-968-0808. Reservations will not be taken before noon.
