Hooray for the BCAS!

A huge thank you from the NJSEA to the Bergen County Audubon Society for their $800 donation to help improve the Kingsland Overlook at DeKorte Park! Pictured are NJSEA Parks Supervisor Gaby Bennett-Meany and BCAS President Don Torino.

The money will be used to build a compost bin to help native plants grow on the site, which currently includes non-native species and weeds. The compost bin will provide a beneficial place where vegetative waste can be collected and turned into a valuable resource. In addition, funding will go toward the establishment of a study area for the replanting of native plants.
