Mark your calendars: Native Plant Day, co-hosted by the NJSEA and the Bergen County Audubon Society, is Sunday, May 19, from 10 am to 2 pm. The day will include native plant walks and talks, and information tables. Visitors will learn how they can make a difference in helping birds, pollinators and other wildlife in their own backyards.
Native Plant Day is a great opportunity for all ages to explore DeKorte Park and its beautiful array of gardens and trails spotlighting the native flora. Native plants play a vital role in supporting birds, pollinators and other wildlife. DeKorte Park is home to a wide variety of native plants including milkweed, the only plant Monarch Butterflies, currently in steep decline, lay their eggs.
Check back for additional information as we get closer to the day.
The event takes place at the Meadowlands Environment Center, 2 DeKorte Park Plaza, Lyndhurst.
