Passing of Edith Wallace

It was with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Edith Wallace, PhD. Edith passed away earlier this month at the age of 89. She was a former Board Member and current member of the Bergen County Audubon Society.

Edith was well-known for her enjoyable and informative walks and talks at many gardens in Northern New Jersey. Per her wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at 1p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21, at Skylands Manor in Ringwood.

Edith inspired us all to love and respect the natural world around us, said Don Torino, President of the Bergen County Audubon Society. Her nature walks with BCAS taught us all the importance of native plants and why it was so important for us to cherish and protect them. Her legacy will live on with everyone that had the honor to walk at her side.
