We couldn’t help but post all Butterfly Day pics today. Yesterday’s BCAS/NJSEA event at DeKorte Park was amazing, drawing upward of 1,000 people, including many young children who participated in the day’s activities! And, we’ll have some more photos tomorrow! But for now we leave you with another great set of pics by Tatiana Gomez. Thanks Tatiana!

Upward of 1,000 people bared the heat yesterday to join us in DeKorte Park to celebrate the 10th Annual Butterfly Day co-sponsored by the Bergen County Audubon Society and the New Jersey Sports and Expostion Authority.
Attendees were treated to butterfly walks and talks throughout the day as well as free native plant giveaways and informational tables. Kids had a great time with many activities including face painting, a scavenger hunt, games, crafts and a costume contest. It was fantastic to see so many young people at the park learning about butterflies and the importance of wildlife and the environment. Thanks to the participants and the volunteers for making Butterfly Day such a great event!
