Butterflies Abound On Butterfly Day
The butterflies certainly cooperated yesterday! Here’s just a few of the many photographs we received. Thanks to everyone who sent in their shots!
Butterfly Day a Rousing Success!!!
Some 1,200 people came out to DeKorte Park for yesterday’s 9th Annual Butterfly Day, easily our biggest and best yet! A huge thank you to everyone who made the day, and the fun, possible: Bergen County Audubon Society, who had tables on both butterflies and bees, led butterfly walks, and gave butterfly talks; NJSEA staff volunteers; Teaneck Creek Conservancy; and the Hudson Woodpile Band.
It was especially great seeing all the kids learn about butterflies and show off their butterfly tattoos!
Check out a story on the event in today’s Record here
We will have lots of photos throughout the day. We’ll start with some iconic monarchs photographed by Tatiana Gomez.
Some Pre-Butterfly Day Butterflies
Here’s some advance Butterfly Day photos of the beautiful creatures taken at DeKorte recently by Mickey Raine. Great shots Mickey! Come see them for yourself this Sunday at Butterfly Day!
