   The Meadowlands Commission's free Walk of the Month for January is on Monday at 10 a.m. We hope to see some raptor action like we saw on Tuesday,when a Rough-legged Hawk tangled with a Redtail.

    We are lining up other free Walks of the Month, including:
    Friday, Feb. 13: Great Backyard Count Walk, with light refreshments afterward. 10 a.m., DeKorte Park, Lyndhurst
   Sunday March 29: Birding for Beginners, talk and walk, 1 p.m., Meadowlands Environment Center, DeKorte Park. In conjunction with the Bergen County Audubon Society.
  Sunday, May 10: Mother's Day Walk at Ridgefield Nature Center and Skeetkill Marsh, in Ridgefield — with a look at the resident Monk Parakeets along the way. In conjunction with the Bergen County Audubon Society.
