Just a reminder that the first free DeKorte Nature Walk of the summer is Sunday at 9 a.m. We meet at the butterfly garden in front of the Meadowlands Environment Center. (First building on your left as you enter DeKorte Park.)
The walk is sponsored by the Meadowlands Commission and Bergen County Audubon. Bring binoculars, sunscreen and bug spray.

Sunday, July 19: Butterflies for Beginners. 1 p.m. Get started learning how to identify the Butterflies of the Meadowlands and the plants that attract them. Optics for butterflies and how to start your own backyard butterfly garden will be discussed, followed by walk.
Tuesday, July 21: DeKorte Park
Sunday, Aug. 2: DeKorte Park
Tuesday, August 18: Harrier Meadow walk. 1 p.m. We’ll explore the wildlife of this 70-acre wetlands site, usually off-limits to the public.
