Please note: Due to the storm expected to reach us this afternoon and get progressively worse, the NJSEA Administration Building is closed and will reopen on Monday, Dec. 19. DeKorte Park will be closed on Friday, Dec. 16, unless conditions change. Please check this page for updates.
Annual BCAS Winter Solstice Walk Next Wednesday, Dec. 21, at DeKorte Park
The Bergen County Audubon Society leads a walk through DeKorte Park on the Winter Solstice, the official start of winter, and the shortest day and longest night of the year. The walk goes from 10 a.m. to noon.

Special Disposal Road Raptor Walk with the BCAS on Sunday, Dec. 18!
We’ll be scanning the sky for kestrels, hawks, and eagles with the Bergen County Audubon Society on this special Raptor Walk. Join us! The walk goes from 10 a.m. to noon. Meets on Disposal Road by the AMVETS Memorial Carillon, North Arlington.

Check out local New Jersey artist Cheryl Hochberg, above, discussing her fantastic mural, “The Crab Reveals/The Crab Portends.“ The painting, located in River Barge Park in Carlstadt, has been receiving rave reviews! The work of art was inspired by the central role that Blue Crabs have played – and continue to play – in the changing ecology of the Hackensack River.
