Butterfly Day Is Sunday, July 26!

Butterfly Day is back on Sunday, July 26! The family-friendly event presented by the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority and Bergen County Audubon Society takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Richard W. DeKorte Park and the Meadowlands Environment Center in Lyndhurst.

The highly-anticipated, family-friendly event features butterfly walks, talks, information tables and more. There are plenty of great kid’s activities, including games, crafts and a costume contest (ages 12 and under).

And, of course, the winged marvels themselves. We traditionally see Monarchs, swallowtails, Red Admirals, skippers and other species throughout the park. Come down to DeKorte Park and join the NJSEA and BCAS for an engaging, fun and educational day celebrating all things butterfly!

DeKorte Park is located at 2 DeKorte Park Plaza, Lyndhurst.

Marsh Discovery Trail Reopening On Friday, July 3!

🚶‍♀️ Good news! After several months of improvements, the Marsh Discovery Trail at Richard W. DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst will reopen on Friday, July 3rd.

🚨⚠️If you’re planning a visit, please keep the current heat wave in mind. We recommend exploring the trail during the early morning hours, bringing plenty of water, and taking advantage of the hydration station available at the park to stay cool and hydrated. The hydration station can be found by the entrance of the Environmental Center, about 1000 feet from the start of the trail.

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back! 🌿☀️
