I was lucky enough to see Chris Takacs when I pulled into work this morning at DeKorte Park. Chris informed that he had seen nine Least Terns along the metal boardwalk of the Marsh Discovery Trail and that this is an unusually high number of Leasts for DeKorte. Higher numbers are seen in the impoundments of the Kearny Marsh and Kearny Marsh East. There had been more in DeKorte years ago but they don’t nest around the park anymore.
