We took this guy's photo while it was being banded last month.

IMG_2450 This is the second one that NJMC Naturalist Mike Newhouse and his volunteers have banded in the past two years.

Just love the colorations on its back.

    Finally, one that I know! That’s a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker!
    When I lived in Virginia, the area around my house was surrounded by woodlands. Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers were fairly common locally. I’ve never actually seen one in New Jersey before.
