I have just discovered the beautiful Sweet Gum Tree alongside a river in Pine Brook. The scent of the crushed bright green leaves is tantalizing when held to the nostril. The tree is strong and straight and magnificent, and the canopy invites tranquil meditation. I will plant a Sweet Gum tree (with itchy balls) along the edge of my lake in the spring. I have many birds and other wildlife species who will benefit from this tree. A friend told me of your post. Thank you for this beautiful tribute to my newly found favorite tree.
