Don Torino of Bergen County Audubon loves Mill Creek Marsh so much he talked the Meadowlands Commission into co-sponsoring a free "bonus" walk this month.
The two-hour walk begins at 10 a.m. this Sunday (Oct. 24)at the entrance to Mill Creek Marsh. Directions are on the left-hand column of this blog.

When we were in the Lyndhurst Nature Reserve earlier this week, a Redtail flew in and landed just above our head. Good thing we had a camera.
We went for a nice autumn walk in DeKorte Park on Thursday, and could not get over how beautiful this place looks — even though we work here five days a week and are pretty much used to it by now. W
DeKorte Park is open from 8 a.m. to dusk daily. More on the park here.
These days we still have some yellowlegs in the Shorebird Pool, to go with the incoming ducks — Green-winged Teal, Northern Shovelers, Northern Pintails and more. Also getting Northern Harriers, American Kestrels and an occasional Peregrine.
