Next Thursday: Birding By Pontoon Boat!

Pontoon boatBecause we had to reschedule our “Birding By Boat” with the Bergen County Audubon Society, we now have a lot more room for folks who want to to participate. It is open to all, and a lot of fun.

The boat ride along the Hackensack River and its marshes is two hours long and costs just a $15 donation. The shorebird migration is on, and we should see lost of nifty birds.

Pontoon-Boat Birding Cruise with NJMC, BCAS

This is a two-hour birding cruise along the Hackensack River and its marshes. The two-hour guided trip has a suggested donation of $15 per person. We’ll look for peregrine falcons, ospreys, northern harriers, various egrets and herons, plus diamondback terrapins. Nature photographers are welcome, but you must be unobtrusive (no tripods). Bring drinking water and wear sunscreen. The event is run by the N.J. Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society.
