Third-Tuesday-of-the Month Walk with the NJMC and BCAS
This free two-hour nature walk starts at the entrance to Losen Slote Creek Park in Little Ferry. We’ll look for warblers and other fall birds – and pick up any litter we find along the way. The walk is run by the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute weather updates. You will have to sign a standard liability release for this event that is good for NJMC/BCAS events throughout the year. To rsvp, contact Don Torino of the BCAS at greatauk4@aol.com or 201-230-4983.
Sunday, Oct. 20, 1 – 2:30 p.m.
Bats, Spiders and Snakes – Oh My! – All ages
Get ready for Halloween with a presentation by New Jersey’s “Batman,” Joe D’Angeli. Meet these not-so-scary creatures up-close and learn about local bat species, the environmental benefits of bats and recent threats to their survival. Joe will also bring along some other creatures that might be out and about on October 31!
