Ron Shields got reacquainted with a feathered friend yesterday on Disposal Road. Ron writes us: I found a juvenile peregrine falcon found perched along Disposal Road this morning. Upon further examination of its bands, this falcon is 56 AK, an old friend who I photographed on August 30, 2015 in the Saw Mill Creek Wildlife Management Area and again on January 3, 2016 on Valley Brook Road. Great pics Ron!
Ron Shields (or anybody else), we would love to see any additional pictures of this girl if there are any floating around. Thanks!! facebook.com/wilmfalcons
This beauty is a 2015 fledgling from downtown Wilmington Delaware who got off to a rocky start. But it seems she is thriving in the Meadowlands of New Jersey. She has been photographed by several people since August in the same general area. Apparently she loves her picture taken and is a natural beauty. We are very happy to see our old friend growing up and doing so well!! Any updates / pics will be much appreciated. wilmfalcons.com
If you search this blog using the phrase “Peregrine Falcon Strikes A Pose”, you will see earlier pics of this same falcon. The perched shots are from January 3, 2016. The only flight shot is from August 30, 2015.
