Many thanks to the BCAS for providing much-needed nest boxes for American Kestrels throughout the Meadowlands District! The NJSEA began installation of the brand new homes today and will continue placing more in the coming weeks. Great teamwork everyone!
“The American Kestrel is our smallest falcon and is listed as a Threatened Species in New Jersey due to multiple factors such as habitat loss and less available nesting locations,” said Don Torino, President of the BCAS. “Their numbers have been in steep decline. Our joint project is to help this incredible little raptor here in the Meadowlands.”
