Our next nature walk is Sunday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m., and the place is Laurel Hill County Park, next to the Hackensack River in Secaucus. It's a bit off the beaten track, but a cool place to visit this time of year.
Details follow.

First-Sunday-of-the-Month Nature Walk with the NJMC and BCAS
During this free two-hour guided nature walk at Laurel County Park in Secaucus, we’ll keep an eye out for migrating raptors, shorebirds and other birds of interest. We meet in the park’s main parking lot at 10 a.m. – or you can also meet us at the visitors’ parking lot at DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst by 9:40 a.m. and we can carpool. The walk is run by the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute weather updates.
