The latest wildnewjersey.tv column by Bergen County Audubon President Don Torino is about the efforts of two local Eagle Scout candidates to restore and improve Losen Slote Creek Park.

As Don writes:

If we ever had any doubts concerning how our future generations would care for our environment, I am happy to report we can all rest easy because of young people like Patrick Carney and Thomas Holland.

“A couple of months ago I was looking for a project in my area in order to complete my Eagle Scout requirement for a service project” Thomas Holland of Troop 96 in Ridgefield told me.

“One of my biggest concerns when looking for an Eagle scout project was that it would serve the community. My Eagle coach, Mr. Kevin Dolce, contacted Bergen County Audubon Society and after a discussion they were kind enough to offer me this wonderful project helping to create a Butterfly garden and improving the trails of Losen Slote Creek Park in Little Ferry.”
