IMG_7239-1
Don't forget our Mother's Day Walk in Ridgefield this Sunday at 10 a.m. We'll visit the Ridgefield Nature Center — where we will be looking for Scarlet Tanagers, warblers, thrushes and more — plus Monk parakeets on the way to Skeetkill Marsh (for Baltimore Orioles and more).

As Bergen Audubon's Don Torino says, "Visit Your Mother This Sunday … Mother Nature that is!"

Details follow.

Sunday, May 8, 10 a.m.

Special Mother’s Day Walk with the NJMC and BCAS
Our third annual Mother’s Day Walk begins at the Ridgefield Nature Center in Ridgefield. The free, two-hour walk includes a walk around the 5.4 acre center (once the home of the Great Bear Bottled Water Co.), and a visit to Skeetkill Creek Marsh in Ridgefield, with a stop to see the Monk Parakeets on the way.  We’ll meet at the Ridgefield Nature Center at 10 a.m. (directions are on meadowblog.net in the left-hand column). The walk is run by the N.J. Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute weather updates. You will have to sign a standard liability release for this event. To rsvp, contact Don Torino of the BCAS at
greatauk4@aol.com  or 201-636-4022.
