Sunday: Free New Year’s Day Walk at Mill Creek

Jump-start your year list on New Year's Day with a free guided walk at Mill Creek Marsh in Secaucus. The two-hour walk, sponsored by the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and Bergen County Audubon Society, begins at 10 a.m. and will be held on wide, flat paths with lots of great spots to see wintering waterfowl and raptors.

You'll be required to sign a standard liability release, good for NJMC/BCAS events throughout the year. You can download the release here:

First-Sunday-of-the-Month Nature Walk with the NJMC and BCAS

What better way to ring in 2011 than with a brisk nature walk? This free two-hour guided walk of Mill Creek Marsh in Secaucus begins at 10 a.m. We’ll look for wintering waterfowl – including the Eurasian Green-winged Teal –and other birds of interest. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute weather updates. The walk is run by the N.J. Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society.
