Restoring a Carlstadt Marsh

Mark Renna of Evergreen Environmental writes: "NJ Audubon was out monitoring our site in Carlstadt recently for their heron study. I climbed the tank and took some pictures from a unique vantage point in the early stages of a marsh restoration project."

Thanks, Mark! A couple of NJMC staffers were at the site around that time and saw 10 Ospreys, five Great Blue Herons and a nice assortment of egrets — a great location for birds migrating down the flyway.

I pass this site regularly, and just recently I’ve noticed quite an upsurge in egrets and wildlife in general. I wish there were some overlook to the area, as I usually only see it from the Turnpike at 60MPH.
