Tuesday: Free Guided Walk at Losen Slote

P1010563
Losen Slote has been brimming with birds lately (Just read Ramon Gomez's report from Thursday here), and we are doing a free guided walk there tomorrow (Tuesday) from 10 a.m. to noon.

Details follow.

Tuesday, Oct. 16, 10 a.m.
Third-Tuesday-of-the-Month Nature Walk with the NJMC and BCAS
This free two-hour guided nature walk takes us to Losen Slote Creek Park in Little Ferry, where we’ll look for fall migrants. The walk is run by the N.J. Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute updates and weather advisories. You will have to sign a standard liability release that is good for NJMC/BCAS events throughout the year. To rsvp, contact Don Torino of the BCAS at greatauk4@aol.com or 201-230-4983.

Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help out with the recent flooding due to Hurricane Sandy. I’m going to try to draw attention to this extremely valuable natural resource.
