It looked pretty serious when we saw them at 7:45 a.m. yesterday on Disposal Road…

Photo that follows is after we told 'em to knock it off…

Allopreening is a common behavior in Common Ravens, and is a way of reinforcing bonds between pairs. This can happen between mated pairs, male birds who happen to be traveling together, juvenile birds from the same nest, etc.
    Thank you, BNA! 🙂

Jim, sorry, I was referring to the Birds of North America, maybe the best online resource for bird and ornithological studies in the world.
It is jointly maintained by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the American Ornithologist’s Union, and attempts to gather up all the known scientific studies and literature on birds and consolidate all that gathered info into one place. It is something of a “clearinghouse” for all things birdy. 🙂
The BNA is a subscription service that costs individuals about $5.00 (Or less) per month.
