Applause to the Bergen County Audubon Society for donating 12 Tree Swallow Nest Boxes to the NJSEA!
The iridescent blue spring migrants nest only in hallowed-out cavities. Given their diminishing habitat, nesting boxes are vital to the continued breeding success of Tree Swallows in the Meadowlands.
Tree Swallows also happen to very photogenic birds. Enjoy some photos below from throughout the years. We applaud the ambitious swallow claiming a nest box before NJSEA staff can install it in the marsh!
