Two Free Walks This Sunday!

Early May is prime time for seeing migratory birds — especially warblers. To celebrate, we are adding a free guided walk on Sunday, May 5. It's the Early Bird Special at Losen Slote Creek Park in Little Ferry, a great wooded area for warbler-watching. (Thanks, to Denise Farrell for naming the walk!)

We'll also have our annual Losen Slote May walk the same day, at 10 a.m.

Details follow.

Sunday, May 5, 8 a.m.

First-Sunday Early Bird Special with the NJMC and BCAS

This free two-hour nature walk starts at the entrance to Losen Slote Creek Park in Little Ferry. This could be one of the best birding days of the year, so we thought we’d offer an Early Bird Special and see what kind of migratory birds drop by. The walk is run by the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute weather updates. You will have to sign a standard liability release for this event that is good for NJMC/BCAS events throughout the year. To rsvp, contact Don Torino of the BCAS at greatauk4@aol.com or 201-636-4022.
