Next Guided Walk: Mill Creek Marsh, Dec. 18

DSCN2574
Our Third-Tuesday-of-the-Month Walk will be at the recently reopened Mill Creek Marsh on Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. It will be great to birding the site instead of cleaning up storm damage and debris there. We should see plenty of Green-winged Teal, Northern Shovelers and other ducks — plus a raptor or two.

Mill Creek is a beautiful place any time of year, a wonder marsh with the Manhattan skyline in the distance.

Third-Tuesday-of-the-Month Nature Walk with the NJMC and BCAS

This free two-hour guided walk of the recently reopened Mill Creek Marsh in Secaucus begins at 10 a.m. We’ll look for wintering waterfowl –- including the Eurasian Green-winged Teal — and other birds of interest. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute weather updates. The walk is run by the N.J. Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society. You will have to sign a standard liability release that is good for NJMC/BCAS events throughout the year. To rsvp, contact Don Torino of the BCAS at greatauk4@aol.com or 201-230-4983.
