Northern Shrike Update 031810: The Bird that Wouldn’t Leave

   Several birders saw the Northern Shrike on Disposal Road in the trees across from the NJMC Maintenance Shed. The bird has now been seen sporadically for 98 days(14 weeks). Photos were taken today.
   At some point we are going to make this dude pay rent.

Special Walk this Sunday, 10 a.m.

    To celebrate the arrival of spring, the Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society are holding a special walk this Sunday at 10 a.m. at Laurel Hill County Park in Secaucus.  Directions are in the left-hand column.
   We are working on an alternate location for the walk on Sunday, April 4. It had been scheduled for Mill Creek Marsh in Secaucus, but that site is closed for storm repairs at least until mid-April. We will post information on the new site for the April 4 walk here.
