How Windy Was It Today?
Friday a.m. Disposal Road Action
A trip down Disposal Road and back this morning found:
*A Peregrine (zipping between Harrier Meadow and Disposal Road)
*2 Red-tails kiting or perched
*A female N. Harrier hunting on Kingsland near the Carillon
*A perched Am. Kestrel on Kingsland up the hill from Detention Pond
* A Sharpie perched on Kingsland near DeKorte
* 2 Common Ravens by the entrance to DeKorte.
Strong winds seemed to help. Will put battery back in camera next time.
Mike Newhouse’s Team’s CBC List
Meadowlands Commission Naturalist Mike Newhouse covered Harrier Meadow, the 1-E Landfill, the Erie Landfill and the MRI wetlands on last Sunday's Lower Hudson Christmas Bird Count.
