The New Jersey Meadowlands Commission’s Flyway Gallery will host an exhibit featuring oil works and sepia sketches by local artist Bobbi Brick during June.
   Bobbi is also known by her former and current married names, Pagani and Cammarano. The exhibit, “Inside/Outside,” runs from Monday, June 7, through Thursday, July 1. A reception for the artist is scheduled for Sunday June 13 from noon until 2:30 p.m.

    Brick, a Ramsey resident and former longtime North Caldwell resident, said her observations of vistas, valleys, landscapes and oceans are profoundly influenced by nature.
   “As I paint a portrait I peer inward and translate the subject’s emotions and feelings into the final painting,” Brick said. “The form, direction of line shape and the tonality of color palette are meant to evoke an emotional response from those who view my work.”
  Brick, who said she began painting at age 3, ran a textile design studio for 40 years before returning to her first love, the fine arts.
   Her works have been displayed in numerous juried shows in New Jersey and galleries in New Jersey and Massachusetts.
   She has received several honors, including the 2009 Jeanne Sasslow Award from the West Essex Art Association and the 2008 First Prize for oils from the Bergenfield Arts Festival Coalition.
   The Flyway Gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The gallery is located at the Meadowlands Environment Center in Lyndhurst, within DeKorte Park, the home of the NJMC.
   The park encompasses one-square mile of wetlands, nature trails and water views – framed by the New York City skyline – and is a great place for bird watching and enjoying nature in general.
