Saw this seed pod and plenty like it on the trail by the Gunnell Oval at the Kearny Marsh last week. What is it?

Camman Drive loops around Gunnell Oval; the marsh is to the east of the easternmost corner of the drive. You can launch kayaks and canoes at this location.

On Mehrhof Road, turn right just before the DPW garage. Plenty of parking straight ahead and to the right.
