Following up from this morning, here’s a second batch of photos from Joe Koscielny taken at Tuesday’s BCAS Junior Naturalist program at DeKorte Park. We’ll have a third and final series tomorrow morning.
Ron Shields kayaked the Saw Mill Creek Wildlife Management Area this past weekend and shared these great photos. Ron writes that he saw “tons of shorebirds, snowy egrets and laughing gulls to mention a few. The highlight of the paddle was up close and personal looks at eight clapper rails. Enjoy the pics!”
Joe Koscielny of BCAS got an abundance of photos of avian and other friends during the Junior Naturalist program held this past Tuesday at DeKorte. A sampling is below, and we’ll have more later in the day.
Thanks to the South Bergenite for their great story in today’s issue on DeKorte Park and all it has to offer to the public. Read the article here Spread the word to those who have not been to the park yet!
This summer I had the honor and pleasure of working with YWCA camp children at one of our BCAS Butterfly Gardens and also with other great young folks through our junior naturalist program at DeKorte Park. As much as these great kids enjoyed their time outdoors it was I who relished the experience even more. Their innocent curiosity, sense of wonder and delight of discovery did my heart good and reminded me never to forget why I loved nature to begin with.
