This Sunday, the Meadowlands Commission and Bergen County Audubon Society are hosting two great free events — a nature walk at 10 a.m. with the inimitable Edith Wallace and other fine folk, and a Butterflies for Beginners Talk and Walk at 1 p.m.

More info on both events follows.

DeKorte Park Plant Walk with the NJMC and BCAS
Join us for a two-hour plant walk of DeKorte with botanist Edith Wallace. We will be looking for the plants that attract birds and butterflies, and which ones would work in your home gardens. We’ll keep an eye out for birds and butterflies, too. We’ll meet in the visitors’ parking lot at DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst. The walk is run by the N.J. Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute updates and weather advisories. You will have to sign a standard liability release for this event. To rsvp, contact Don Torino of the BCAS at greatauk4@aol.com  or 201-636-4022.

Thank you Jim. Went to both Kearny and DeKorte and saw a few of them. Not sure of the names, but pretty ones.
