First we'll look for duckage at DeKorte Park (and keep fingers crossed that the Shorebird Pool has some open water.
Next, we'll check out Disposal Road for raptors (above) — and hope we get a Bald Eagle or Rough-legged Hawk.
Finally, we'll walk into Harrier Meadow to see what's hanging around.
Waterproof boots and warm clothes are advised.
You'll need to sign a liability release, good for all of 2013.

First-Sunday-of-the-Month Nature Walk with the NJMC and BCAS
This free two-hour guided nature walk begins at DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst and ends at the nearby Harrier Meadow in North Arlington. Along the way, we’ll look for Northern Harriers, American Kestrels and other raptors on the legendary Disposal Road. We meet at 10 a.m. in the visitors lot at DeKorte Park. The walk is run by the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and the Bergen County Audubon Society. Check meadowblog.net for last-minute updates and weather advisories. You will have to sign a standard liability release that is good for NJMC/BCAS events throughout the year. To rsvp, contact Don Torino of the BCAS at firstname.lastname@example.org or 201-230-4983.
